Ahoy!

I need to replace the companionway teak guides for the crib boards and I recently purchased a set from CD. (inventory running out as they lost supplier). I did a search on the forum about removing these, but didn't find my answer. The teak guides that are on the boat look original and like they are cemented on for all time.

Any suggestions for how to get these off and installing new?
Thanks in advance.

they are screwed from inside the cabin. take off the teak trim on the inside and you will find the screws.

Mine were simply screwed through the interior trim. I removed the screws and worked the trim off the ancient bedding. Lots of scraping and cleaning before re-bedding with polysufide.

Yes. Boatlife makes a non-polysufide product called Life-Seal for bedding plastics and a 2 part product, but Lifecaulk is what you want. I did mine in black.

Remind us of what year your boat is, the trim and the way it was attached changed over time.
