Hi everyone,

My boat has a West Marine mainsail cover. I'd like to add a Catalina 25 diamond-shaped logo to it like I've seen on other sail covers ... I think they look nice. Does anyone know where I might be able to buy a pair?

Thanks for the help!

Have you asked Cat Direct?

You might want to skip adding the logo, unless it only costs a few bucks. They only "look nice" for one or two seasons before the sunlight chews them up. On my sailcover, which came from the Catalina factory and was presumeably the best quality, the red color in the logo diamond only lasted two or threee months before it faded to a light pink. Red is the worst color for UV resistance, I think. Just look at what happens to the roof, trunk and hood of some red-painted automobiles after a few years if they are parked outside; the paint is often burned off right down to the primer.

Hi Dave,

I looked at my Catalina Direct catalog and you were right ... they have them ... I'll give them a call.

I recently heard about the aluminum spreader brackets on this Forum ... OF COURSE I have them ... previous owners of my boat only rode her hard and put her up wet ... they never bothered to keep up with important modifications ... it just makes me furious! Anyway, I've got to order those from Catalina Direct, so I might as well get the logos and the spreader brackets at the same time.

Hi Larry,

Thanks for the heads up on the fading ... I must admit, I've seen some logos that look pretty bad. I'm planning on getting them anyway ... they are only $13 ... even if they only last a year, that's about a dollar a month ... 'not too bad as far as boat stuff goes.

Thanks!

The c250 must have newer better quality diamond logos. Mine are starting their 4th year and look good as new. Daylight Again is in the water year round and it is only 90 miles from Denver Colorado, which on average has the most days of bright sunshine per year in the U.S.

Update ...

I just called Catalina Direct ... they no longer stock the mainsail cover logos ... the vendor got too expensive, and they dropped it altogether ... 'back to square one on the logos.

Also, I ordered the spreader bracket retrofit kit ... the price has gone up from $47.30 to $63.95 ... ain't it grand ... <img src=icon_smile_dissapprove.gif border=0 align=middle>
