Lee, sorry I missed your post till now. Thank you for your insight. I will give it a go and post my reactions. Unfortunately, as we move to summer the winds start to die down so it probably won't happen for a while. Given your out on the SF bay with a SK makes me feel childish being apprehensive on a lake. Each to his/her own fears I guess.

Some times it's too late when you wonder why everyone else's jib isn't up. It took a year or so for me to be comfortable again. But a good learning experience. No damage, just my pride.
