Had a great opportunity this past weekend to host a few sailors from the Girl Scouts of Central Texas Mariners. Our yacht club provided boats and skippers for two days of familiarization to a very motivated group ranging in age from 9-17. They all had some level of experience, but almost exclusively on small board boats. It was great to see them enjoying the sailing-- and they even learned a few things! We at the club are also working with the local Boy Scouts, as well as area High Schools, to develop an interest in sailing. We've really just started these programs, so hopefully we'll bring in a few new sailors.
