I just ordered and received the Catalina Direct C-25 Handbook. While a good argument could be made that is nothing but an expensive catalog of Catalina Direct merchandise my personal opinion is it is very much worth the 10.00 cost. While it is merchandise...it is C-25 merchandise and very good reading. The page on turnbuckles and toggles is worth the price alone. It also has a good discussion on access to the traveler as recently discussed on the forum. If you don't have it....I recommend you get it as I think you will find much of interest.

I seem to recall when I bought mine that updates were included in the price.....

Has anyone actually gotten their update?

I called Catalina Direct a few weeks ago to order the stainless steel spreader brackets. When she told me they would be $63.95, I couldn't believe it ... my catalog listed them at $47.30 (35% less!).

She was quick to tell me my catalog needed an update ... the updated pages showed up with my $63.95 brackets ... no extra charge .

So what they mean is, call us for your updates and we will send them to you next time you order something.

So if you don't order and don't ask you don't get. Sounds like my house.

I've gotten a few updates from CD, but I can't remember if they were for my C22 or the 25.

All things considered, we're lucky to have a Catalina Direct. Helpful people, know our boats, some unique items, fair to very good prices. I hadn't expected updates, but it would be nice... I've made some pretty heavy purchases from them in the past two years, such as the whole new rope-halyards-led-aft setup. (Many BUs.)

When I was talking with Lowell today I mentioned to him of the concern of the folks on this list that aren't receiving updates. He told me they are just finishing up making the new updates and should be coming out shortly. They are trying to update with all the price increases from Catalina.

It's no secret that I'm one of Catalina Direct's biggest fans. They have helped me out more than any other supplier out there.

No Updates yet.
Last order for new rudder gudgeons I asked over the phone and was told that there were updates almost ready to send out. I've been buying stuff from them over the last two years and haven't seen one yet.
But,like Dave says, it's good they're out there. They really have helped me with my purchases and seem genuinely interested that I got the right parts and was happy with what I got.
