This object came with our boat. (I was one of many curious things we pulled out of the moldy lockers) It has a small sticker that says Seadog. It is pretty lightly made. I have no idea what it is.

It's a rail mount flagstaff.

A flag staff huh. That sound too easy. I was imagining all kinds of interesting uses for this thing <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle> This would make a great prop for that old liars club show.

Todd, it looks to me kind of like one of those posts they use for wake boards. You know to get the maximum height. Kind of small though, I seem to remember seeing a marine animal show where they had RC motor boat towing a trained dog on skis.

It looks like a rail mount pennant staff all right. West Marine Catalog page 734 shows something very similar, also with three clips, maybe to fly the storm flags shown on page 731? <img src=icon_smile_shock.gif border=0 align=middle>

That may be for mounting on a 7/8" rail, to be removed for a 1" rail.
