Hey all,
arrived back at my house at 0500 this morning with Chick-a-pea in tow. We had a beautiful trip with beautiful weather and beautiful seas. Only minor problems with the boat.

We had 12 boats all together. Others are still on the road home and four have traveled on to the Berry Islands.

After I get my land legs back and more sleep and everything ship shape, I'll be posting more.

Safe voyages,
Ben, FL s/v Chick-a-pea C250wk

Here are some of the pictures I took with my digital web cam.

I'm still trying to catch up on "home" work. But I'll have more info soon. Brother Dave, my navigator, is going to save the GPS tracks on his Garmin chart plotter as GIFs and I can post them.

Ben...thanks for sharing the pics... I had about gotten over the dissapointment of having to cancel... and that was renewed when I saw your pics... but I'll get over it. Maybe not fully until maybe next year when we have resolved to try again.

Excellent pic's.

The next time you go, if you find a stowaway in one of your lockers, every now and again, throw some food to me...uhhh, I mean...to him.

It has been my first project as a retired person. I will try to put up something on the web...photos and experiences (good and bad) like water infiltration , broken rudder... but nothing verry serious.... A great experience . Since the weather in Quebec was the worst they have had for a very long time I was the more happy to be under the sun all winter. I rode my boat on the trailer down to Miami (1600miles) The weight of the truck, boat, trailer was a little over 12,400 lbs. (3 axle trailer) . By the way , the alcool pressure stove worked realy well with a mixture of ethanol and methanol. I'm radioamature so I could comunicate with home and get weather every day by phonepatch and winlink. If you have any question , please don't hesitate.

I finally got the video uploaded to my computer. Here is one small clip at medium resolution. This clip at hi res is 3mb and exceeds my ftp space. The whole video is 83mb. Still learning how to do this stuff. The file is a Windows Media Video. It was done with Windows Movie Maker. If anyone else has any advice on how to do this kinda stuff, please let me know.

I checked in with customs, but I'm a native Floridian, not an immigrant so I didn't check in with INS.

Hi Ben,

I new you were a Floridian. I read an article that said all incomming boats must report to the INS.

I just read this morning that Customs has the authority to do the INS clearance too.

I hope to do this trip someday. I'm tired of being a wannabee. I'm sure it was a blast.

My windows media player won't play the clip.

Error message..."the request is invalid in the current state"

huh!

Sorry, don't know what's up with the message "not valid in current state." I just clicked on the Bimini clip link and it started playing in a new window with Media Player. The trouple with Windows Movie Maker is you can only save it as a .WMV file, not .MOV or .JPM or .VDO.

I'm still trying to find a place to put the other clips. I could swap them out every week. The part where everyone is rigging their boats in the parking lot is the longest but most interesting to me.
