Less than a week until launch and still have to put on the bottom paint and wax the hull<img src=icon_smile_sad.gif border=0 align=middle>. Yesterday I thought I'd put some grease on the seacocks and found that I couldn't figure out how to remove the valves. They look to be made out of black delrin or similar plastic. I had hoped to replace the thru-hulls as recommended by many but ran out of time. Does anyone knwow how to disassemble/lubricate these seacocks or are the supposed to be maintenance-free? Thanks!
They're pretty much maintenance free. Pour a little vegitable oil down the drain with the valve closed. Then open and close the valve a couple of times. This should be all you need to do.
