Just wondering if anybody had advice on cruising the Puget Sound on a Cat 25? We will be moored at Shillshole and looking for day trips with an occasional overnighter/weekend.

Blake Island, Vashon, Winslow, Kingston, Bremerton. Go up the east side of Whidbey if you like crabbing (check seasons, etc.)

Go to Blake island and enjoy the indian salmon dinner and show. Not cheap but worth it. Kingston is a nice spot to overnight. Head 5 hours south and spend a night at Dockton county park. Hot showers and good docks for 12 dollars a night. Leave there and cruise to Gig Harbor. Public dock gets full early but spots on either side of the dock often open up. Being on the smaller side you should be able to fit in. Go to Tides Tavern while there. They have great fish and chips or wonderfull hand made pizza & the best micro brews. Check www.NWboating.com for other ideas. You could lock through and spend a day sailing Lake Union or the cut. See the floating homes of Sleepless In Seattle fame. If you do go south to the Tacoma area Point Defiance has a visitors dock and a great Anthony's Home Port Resturant. Lots to do and see

Don't foregt Brownsville and Poulsbo. One thing about Blake if you haven't been there: The East side has moorings and a dock, but the dock fills very fast and gets crowded. The West side has no dock, but lots of buoys and a floating moorage system. You have to row ashore, but it's very nice. Nice and easy hike across the island. There's also Belltown, a nice guest marina smack downtown Seattle. I like to spend the night and walk to Pikes place the world's first Starbucks at dawn. Get coffee and a danish and watch the market get ready for the day.
