My new 1990 25' wing keel is going in the water next week. It's on a Champion double axle trailer without rollers. My question is: What's the odds of not having to use an extension or strap. I'm using a four wheel drive expedition to tow with. The lake has several ramps and I will use the one with the steepest incline. It appears to set on the trailer about the same height as a swing keel. Thats all the imfo I know at this time.
I have a 1982 25' that I converted from swing to wing. I found no significant difference in launching. My trailer has bunks and I never use the tongue extension, although it probably would keep my rear tires out of the water. Of course the slope of the ramp is the most critical part of the equation.
