Dave- hopefully the current effort to control spam may have some effect on such doings. Usually they are trying to get one to invest in an attempt to free up monies that they are sitting on at a staggering interest percentage. Ah the greed issue! Might be a fit call for a preemptive strike of sorts.
I listed an Envinrude 15 on the trailer sailer and Lake Michigan Catalina sites last January. I must have gotten two dozen offers to buy from Africa which I didn't respond to. I assume they want a bank account number to allegedly transfer funds to only to remove funds instead. I'm sure there's a racket there of some type. They're no doubt looking for that one in a thousand (or ten thousand) sucker whos greedy enough to bite.

Story on TV the other day about the Nigerian E-Mafia. Seems they now offer you much more for your item than it is worth if you will take the extra money and send it to a friend that they owe money to. Problem is that the money order they send you and you cash is counterfit. Bank takes several days to catch it and by then they have the cash and you get stuck with the problems. Personally, anything from someone I didn,t solicit is ignored.
samething has been happening to me with a 135% genny i am trying to sell. they arfe very persistant and make assumptions that you are an idiot it's too bad these people put so much effort into corruption, when that effort go do us all good if put to in a senseable way dave holtgrave 5722 tr/sk carlyle lake, illinois
tom got your response this morning and you are very funny for your line of work. i deal with archaeologist alot being in the monks mound area. i am an architect and as you know the mississippi valley around st louis is very rich in artifacts. we survey many open areas for new construction and we must determine if the ground is free of is's past heritage.
your comment about running into picnic tables is ever so true.
