I plan on keeping my C-25 at Higgins Lake (a good sized inland lake in mid Michigan) this summer. This is my first year with her and I was wondering about mooring depth. I will be keeping the boat in front of our cottage and it takes quite some distance for the water to get deep. Any recommendations for a minimal safe mooring depth?
My swing keel is in a slip with 57 inchjes of water at the moment. It shouldn't get any less than that, but I have to keep her winched up at before I come in. I hatebthe idea of keeping it up, BUT... if the cable breakes, which it did last year, it will drop into the mud and not put a big hole in my bottom!
I should have stated my C-25 is a swing keel....as far as the swell/chop I expect I’m not sure; I’ll have to ask around. Thanks for the info so far....this forum is great for a novice like me to learn more!
