Don,

I put no stock in this name change mumbo jumbo and went right out and changed the name. That the boat suffered two subsequent sinkings had little to do with the name changing ceremony. It was obvious the the problem was a design fault in the manufacture of the boat.

Right Val.
Based upon our hull numbers I hope that your factory flaw was an isolated incident. On the other hand just in case, perhaps I should increase the libation aspects. My spouse may not appreciate Neptune’s other suggested taste in amusements.

pwhallon,
We have to be able to catch the first fish in order to let it get away. Do you suppose that an extra verse in the ceremony could pacify this critical issue?

Even those superstition challenged (you decide whether that means superstitious or not) are welcome to drop by the slip next Saturday evening. I prefer Korbel. Most appear certain that Neptune would dislike Andres, right?

Gee Val,

I think I would have become a Neptune believer after my boat sank the FIRST time! <img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>

Gee val, I just remembered that the C22 we sank never had had a naming ceremony either...

Whew!!

An interesting and semi hot topic.

When I get my next boat, I'll stick to tradition. It can't hurt.

If we abandon the traditions, sailing won't be as fun. You know....."lets turn left"... "no go right". That's powerboater lingo.

Or.."lets have a drink".. instead of.."let's splice the main brace". At anchor of course.
