I need to bridge a gap of approximately 4.5 inches between the bow stem fitting and the eye terminal of my furler/forestay. I couldn't find any suitable parts in either catalogues or stores. I heard of "stay extenders" and "link plates" but couldn't find any such parts. A turnbuckle is too long. I am not sure if two "long D-type shackles" could be used. Please lend me your experience.
Bruce, tks for response. I created the gap because I shortened the stay when fixing/re-installing the furler (If I was smarter I would have avoided that). Lokking at all the parts in the catalogues I can think two shackles are the only solution. Much better would be a T-bolt with a fork on the other end, but I couldn't find it. Anyone ever found such a part?
