I believe I read somewhere on one of the forums that it is possible to determine certain information about a C25 (and other Catalina models I suppose) from the hull number. Can anybody tell me how to go about that?

my hull number has my sail number in it somewhere. Catalina yachts pointed that out to me. i think the year is in there too.

Thunderheart,

The HIN breaks down to give you the manufacturer, serial number, year of certification, and month of certification. The number in the serial number is also the boat's sail number.

For example the HIN "CTYK4194M84C" breaks down as...

CTY= Catalina Yachts

K4194= Serial Number K4194(sail number 4194)

M84= 1984, Year of Certification

C= October, Month of Certification
