I was recently talking to a lady at Catalina Direct to get a price on a new 110 jib. She asked if my 1995 C250 (Hull #85) was a standard or tall rig. I told her standard. She said that she was fairly certain that early hull numbers 1 - 99 were called standard, but in fact are what Catalina would now call tall. Has anyone heard this before?
To my knowledge the tall rig was not offered on the water ballast ever. It was an option the first few years that the wing keel was made. I think 97 thru 99. My wk is a 2000 and the tall rig was not available that year.
Thank you, Bryan. I understand the standard mast is 28'. I will measure the next time we sail (which will be soon, I hope <img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>)
John It's been my experience with Catalina Direct that they don"t speak "C250". They really know C22's and C25's. If I were going to buy a new headsail for my 250wb I'd call Greg Erickson at Ullman Sails in Ventura CA. He really knows the 250.
