Catalina Direct Have 'em ? (obviously haven't called yet)

In lieu of that, can somebody post a picture of the nut?

I have the 1978 with the pedestal table. I will take a look at the nut this weekend. I am sure you can buy a replacement at Home Depot. Mine is just a regular nut with a lock washer. However - my table is wobbly and I made PVC legs to attach under it when raised so I may not have the stock gear under there.

Check back next week (I am away sailing Friday night through Monday).

I am not sure what you are looking for. Do you have the traditional or dinette style? Mine is dinette. I can look and post a picture but I don't think what I have is what you are looking for. I can't see any type of nut.

I have the early 'L' shaped "dinette-hybrid".

There is a pedestal base on floor with a tube sticking up. The base tube has a hole where the adjuster handle goes thru.

The tube attached to the table top slides inside the base tube.
This tube has a slot. The threaded end of handle goes thru this slot and into some sort of nut on the inside.

I suspect the nut has a special design so it is kept from turning by fitting into the slot. Likely there was also a clip to hold the nut in place so it doesn't fall out if the handle is removed.

My guess is that the nut might be down in the bilge, but I haven't been able to find it. Probably have to make one.

Mine is an 80 dinette model. The table has a folding leg. All together different from yours. Hope you find the missing part.

Yup, that's the one.

It is interesting to see all the little variations in these boats. The table in the photo is much thicker, different finish, pedestal is white instead of aluminum finish, there is a cabinet door under the stove (mine has 2 drawers there).

Wonder if the drawer under the settee was factory?

Buzz is correct...I have a dinette interior. The photo above of the L-shaped dinette is one I keep around for illustration purposes.

The rod that tightens the pedestal takes a 9/16 nut. I have just a lock washer under that. I may be missing some kind of round, wedge shaped peice that makes the table leg tight.
