While taking my C250 out of the water last Wednesday I noticed fuel dripping from the drain recepticle on my 1995 Honda 8 H.P. This morning I traced the suspect fuel line to the bottom of the carburator fuel bowl, its the only line running to the drain fitting on the lower left hand side of the engine. My question is this a line used to drain the fuel bowl, also there appears to be a screw next to the apparent drain line connection at the fuel bowl. This drip does not affect engine operation. Has any one else had this happen on a similar year or model Honda 8 ? THANX in advance. "Bear" [Wayne Brown]
The screw is a blead screw for the float bowl. It's used to discharge water or contaminates from the float bowl. Closing it should should stop the leakage... if not, perhaps some crud is not allowing a proper seat to the screw. I wouldn't force the screw closed...rather if slight tightening doesn't stop the flow... then remove the screw... and blow out the passage in hopes of dislodging whatever is causing the problem.
