Folks, can anyone tell me what the inside pin on the left side of this picture is for? http://www.catalina25-250.org/manbro/pictures/pc14.gif - On my mast head, the outer most pin is for the forestay, there is a pin in the hole just inside it, but I don't know whay it's for?

The inside clevis pin(the one closest to the mast) is for the forestay and the outer clevis pin is used for a block, like for a spinnaker halyard.

Got it! Looks like the PO had the forestay on the wrong pin. Thanks for the help Don.

Don is right. A possible consequence of using the forward pin for the forestay is cracking of the masthead crane (which can occur for other reasons, too). It is worth checking the condition of your masthead crane from time to time.

Another reason roofroof should drop his mast! We all need to look things over periodically.

I agree with Don, because the forward halyard should be for the spinniker, which flys in front of everything. Good advise to check the mast head plate too.

Check out this link to a picture from the C25 Owner's Manual. It explains it all, including the spinnaker block.
