First: thanks to all of you that added much needed input regarding how to improve my boat for racing. I think I have come up with a plan that will work for me and still keep my wife happy: which means we will still have a furler and a savings account! I spoke with Gary at Ullman sails and he said a laminate 150% genoa would be just fine to use on my current furler and that rolling the sail would actually be the preferred way to store it. I could use a Sunbrella sleeve to protect the sail when furled and not have to worry about UV cloth being needed on my fancy new sail. Since I have a 110% jib as well, I will be able to change out the sail when the wind picks up and not compromise the genoa by trying to reef it. I also got a quote from Airforce Sails (Sailnet) for the same type sail and wondered if anyone had any feedback on the Airforce product/service. The Airforce quote was about $250 less than Ullmans. Obviously, Gary Swenson at Ullman gets two thumbs up and since I already have an Ullman mainsail from his loft, I can attest to the quality. So, I figure the money I save by not buying a Tuff-luff can go towards a weekend at J-world next year and in the meantime I've got lots of tweaking/tuning/practicing to do to optimize my boat's performance. Thanks again for all the help guys, I really appreciate it.
