I am dropping the mast for the first time tomorrow!! I have a bent turnbuckle at the base of the forestay at the deck. What size wire do we have and is it best to use 302/304 or the 316. I see in the manual they recomment 3/16 1-19 wire. Is moving up a size a good plan? i eventually will replace all rigging, but wanted to start here first as I know this is a problem. Thanks Dan 86 FK/TR 5290

in looking at catalina direct, they do not specify what size they send when you order the stay from them???

In using the search I found Leon's advice on the forestay being 3/16, i believe. Still do not know if 316 is best. Salt water Corpus Christi Bay, Tx.
