Hello Forum. While I am not a Catalina owner, I have found much usefull information from lurking on this forum. A while back, there was an interesting post about converting a princess alchol stove to propane. The information was very helpful and I completed the conversion--almost. I cannot find a way to connect the 3/8" hose with screw type fittings to the 1lb throw away propane bottle. I am so close to being able to cook on board and this is very frustrating. Any help with this from anyone who has done the conversion would be most helpful. Many thanks, Kevin
Kevin, I was able to find the fitting that you are missing at my local "True Value" hardware store. It has the female 1" throwaway fitting on one end and male 3/8 pipe on the other. I don't remember what it cost, but I believe it was about $4.00. It was in the BBQ / camping section of the store. You might try your local propane distributor for a local source of fittings. Good Luck.
Kevin, I've experienced your frustration. If your local hardware store doesn't have what you need - contact BP Products in Cleveland, OH. They specialize in propane fittings of all types.
Thanks for the replies. After searching the True Value for a while, I still couldn't find the fitting in stock but they were nice enough to look it up and order it for me. Thanks again for the help.
