My apolgies for the "advertisement", BUT the subject of faded sail cover logos is a concern to many of us Catalina owners. I offer this to you as a solution.

I am an ex owner/lover of the C25 - Now a C30, and saw a post regarding faded SAIL COVER LOGOS. I had the same problem. In Respnse to the need I began an off shoot of my sign business to produce High Quality / LONG lasting sail cover logos. Mine WILL NOT FADE ! Check out www.SailBoatLogos.com for the details if you care to!

Best Regards

One thing that was a dissapointment is that the "C-25" logo patch on the sail cover only lasted a couple of months before the red colored portion faded out. I wish they had made it out of a more UV resistant material. The faded red patch made the sail cover look 20 years old when it was only a few months old.

Hi Mark,

I suspect some people might not like your post, but I'm glad you let us know about your logos. I tried to get some last summer and ran into a brick wall. Catalina Direct said they used to carry them, but they no longer had any, and they didn't even have a supplier for me to contact.

Thanks for the info.

Mark,

I don't have a problem with your post, so long as you don't repeat it frequently. (And so long as we don't hear complaints from unhappy customers of yours!) However, it might have been more appropriate to put it in the "Swap Meet" section where people expect to see items offered for sale.

Buzz..Many thanks for the support.. I did think long and hard before I made my initial post. I really DO hope no one will take offense, and that the post will be viewed as a relay of info for an item that has been hard to come by in the past. . I've been doing these logos for quite some time now, friends and dock mates - like that. After joining the IC30A - the subject came up on our General Posting list - that there really WAS no reliable supplier for long lasting Catalina sailcover logos - ..One thing led to another..well there you go! <grin>.

By the way, Freya #68 is a BEAUTY! In MANY ways I miss my ol C25 #5541 Swing Keel - Bigger Boat = Bigger Problems for sure!

Leon.. Many Thanks for the feed back, and your right, I should and will include the info in Swap Meet. You have my word that I wont "clutter up" the place ! I should also mention that I have been in contact with the Commodore of the Catalina 25/250 National Association, Mr. Cliff Thompson to get the site included there.

www.sailboatlogos.com is on port 82 (not port 80 as is standard). Most of you attempting to connect to this site from work will find port 82 blocked by a firewall.

Last spring I purchased a main sail cover insignia set from Catalina Yachts. The cost for 2 was $34.90 (including shipping). They are similar to Mark's custom (blue) logo only they're red,
and are made from thick red canvas with white ink. I believe they were silk screened. They are of good quality but, I would have perfered the original (standard) design. If Mark's insignia's are as good, I think they 're priced fair. I wish I had known about him last spring.

Kip.. That's interesting as I was unaware that Catalina was still offering the logos at all. The big differences between theirs and mine based on your info are two fold. First, I dont silk screen and IMHO it is the wrong way to go for exterior application. I use a heavy duty banner material as the background, hi grade vinyl graphics applied to that..ALL that are designed and intended for exterior application. Secondly, I am a CUSTOM service. If you need the logos larger, smaller, different colors <to match a sunbrella color for example>, or even a different layout entirely...No Problem and Can Do. There is no inventory, I produce on an "as needed basis", one at a time. Not just Catalina logos, but most if not all sail boat manufacturers. Just to clarify, I'm not knocking the Catalina product - just pointing out the differences.. I would be very interested to learn how your logos hold up! Thanks for your info..

To those that were unable to visit the sailboatlogos.com site before -the hosting port has been changed from 82 to 80, and hopefully will now open for you. JimB517 - Many thanks for your info on that!

Also I need to advise you that the Standard Catalina 23 inch X 13 inch sail cover logos are currently listed on EBay thru 1/19. ITEM # 2454382326 and ITEM # 2454383105. Current Price is $25.99 for 1 set <2 logos> plus $4 shipping. Might save someone a few bucks anyway!

Regards

I don't mind the spam here, but isn't there a copyright problem with Catalina?

Doug - Good Question!
I spoke to Catalina Factory representatives while working the Catalina Owners area in Annapolis Oct '03 as a representative of the IC30A and told them of the need and my plan. They wished me good luck! As I stated previously - and perhaps to clarify - you have my word that you'll not see another "New Topic" within your forum on this subject from me. Anything from me will be limited to this topic area and then only as a response. I hate spam as much as the next guy!

As the venture is very new - I'm doing what I can - as carefully as I can - trying not to spam - to relay the fact that a source is now available for an item that previously was hard to come by for my fellow Catalina owners.

It is also interesting to note that a "Google" search for Catalina Sail Cover Logos turns up basically one result - mine. And no - I paid no $$ for that. It just "is".

Best Regards and Thanks!
