Sometime I need to replace the masthead wind instrument (standard-horizon 45 series) the direction arm has come off. REcently I saw an ad (SAIL? or Sailnet? I think) for a wireless system. Anyone have experience with them? What are the advantages, disadvantages? What about depth and speed instruments?
Any feedback would be appreciated.

I haven't looked at the wireless systems, but I just purchased a Series 45 Speed/Log/Temp meter to replace a dead Signet knotmeter. This new meter will now match my Series 45 Depth Sounder, but I don't think I'll be getting the Series 45 Wind Speed/Direction meter any time soon due to the boat units required...$650.00!
If I'm remembering correctly (there is great risk in trusting my memory) the wireless wind direction/speed unit I saw was listed at $559. My knee jerk reaction was not bad, especially after what you just said, Don.
