If you study the new Harken Carbo blocks and the old stand-by 3" blocks you will see that the Carbos actually beat the 3" blocks in pretty much every spec. I discussed this with my local chandler, after he did a quick glance at his wall of Harken inventory he offered me any 3" block for .50 on the dollar, (I bought a new mainsheet rig). Now on the Harken site I came accross a deal on the 3" coaming cheeks needed to rig for a spinnaker. I ordered the 3" hexratchet port and starboard cheek blocks from the Harken Clearence store for $52 ea.

While I do not have a spinnaker at this time, I figure it can't hurt to rig the boat as items become available. I suspect the 3" blocks will be killed soon. The Carbo stuff is nicer but the 3" are the retro look our C-25s look good with.
