One year ago today I took delivery of Indiscipline and sailed her from Long Beach to Dana Point.

This is an anniversary of a very happy day!

Thanks to all of you for your help, it has been a great year, and I look forward to many more. I've gone from being afraid to back out of the slip, afraid of winds over 5 knots, afraid to sail alone, to backing out solo nearly every day and being discouraged if the winds are under 15!

You never stop learning and becoming a better sailor, and the sea is different every time out. Also, thanks to Fleet 7 and moving to Mission bay, I've never had so many friends on the dock.

This time next year I'll be discouraged if the winds are under 25???

Oh yes, the happiest two days of your life are supposedly the day you buy your boat the the day you sell it. May the day you sell be far off.

Great story Jim,
I have owned my 25 a little over a year now. After two Keys trips I like her more and more.
When I sold my 22 I was a little sad, but that was tempered by my happiness in my new 25.
Now after sailing in small craft warnings in the Keys for a solid week, I'm going to be disappointed in our meager winds in Knoxville.
Right now I'm waiting for TVA to bless our lake with some water so I can get my boat back into my slip.

Congratulations Jim. I can't believe you've only been doing this a year. Your stories inspire me to be a better sailer (& fisherman). May the wind always be blowing and the bonita always biting.

"I can't believe you've only been doing this a year. "

Heck, to me it seems like just yesterday when Jim was posting his first questions about looking at a C25... I'm past the half-century mark and the time quite literally flies by.

Congratulations Jim!

You are one darn fine sailor! It's been a privilege to sail with you.
Fair winds and following seas as you begin your second year

P.S. I promised a visiting out-of-town relative I'd take him sailing on Friday afternoon. Are you going to be around?

Since it was her birthday, I had to take her out. Winds were light, from the south, and switched to west. Skies were gray. But we made it around the red bouy and back. Only 1 other boat on the water.

Mike - yes, I will be in Sacramento Wednesday and Thursday but plan to be sailing Friday afternoon/evening around 4 PM. Hopefully the rain will hold off till Monday!

I feel with you. I bought my '83 FK/SR C25 'Illusion' on 03-17-03. Unfortunately, 'iceout' on Lake Winnipesaukee, NH doesn't happen much before mid-late April, so she's still in drydock. Just gimme another few weeks, then...
