Has anyone experienced water coming into the boat around the centerboard trunk cable system Not alot, but have experienced about 2-3 cups of water coming into the boat from this area during sailing the last two days. Any thoughts or suggestions would be helpful. The boat is new so is under warranty, but it would be nice to be able to offer at least some opinion to my dealership for service. It will probably also save a bit of time.
The "radiator" hose might not be clamped down properly, however right in the same area is the valve for the ballast tank. You said it's during sailing. With some stuff on board, or occasionally when sailing, the top of the "dome" where the big wing-nut lives will be below water line, thus the ballast water will be pressured against it. The top of the dome can be less than smooth, or worse, as in my case, the hole off location and on the edge of the dome....The rubber washer is thin, and will not seal on irregularities, or around corners.
My suggestion is to tape a paper towel around the area of the big wing-nut, and to see if it gets wet next time you sail, or, to observe it while you're sailing, and see if it leaks.

many have had the same problem, I believe there is archive on it. The water is coming in from the ballast tank, at the through bolt opening. The fix is to secure a large washer with sealant, 4500, at the base of the through bolt. that widens the base for the wing nut and washer and seals off the oopening. Then replace the rubber washer, metal washer and tighten down. I fixed mine that way and have not had a leak since.
