Hi Gang,

What year did Catalina switch from the to-hull to the through-hull fittings.

FWIW, our '85 has flush thru-hulls (flat disks outside, counersunk into the hull).

Bill Holcomb should know... BILL???????????

Really easy to figure out if your boat is out of the water (or in the water for that matter if you are one of the lucky ones that are in a WARM climate!

If you do not see any ring around a hole in your hull, you got a to-hull, and should replace it as

This spring I plan on redoing the bottom paint(epoxy barrier and VC) and replacing the to-hulls on my newly purchased Catalina 25. Anyway, I was wondering what exactly it is I need to do? Do I saw off the old inboard tubes and just drill out to the size o

Check out the tech section (and old posts) concerning replacement of to hulls.

It is probably the easiest thing that you will be doing to the boat, with the proper equipment such as a Mikita grinder. If you can't find anything, give me a hollar!
