I noticed the hull numbers in the directory are 1-3 digits in length. My registration shows CTYA0071A595. Would my number be 71, or 595?

Your hull serial number is "71". The way your Hull Identification Number breaks down is(after 08/01/84),

CTY = Manufacturers Identification Code (Catalina Yachts)
A0071 = Serial Number (71)
A5 = Date of Certification or Manufacture(Jan 5th)

On a trip to the Texas coast last year, I saw C250 hull no. 2 sailing back into Clear Lake from Galveston Bay. I note that hull no. 2 is the earliest model listed in our "Owner's Directory". Maybe Mr. Cook visits our forum from time to time?
