Has anyone devised a nice floating jib lead system for a C25? I have a 1980 boat with the outboard tracks. I'd like to narrow the sheeting angle when sailing with 100 or 110 headsail. It seems the solution is to do floating leads. Ideas?
Originally the Barber brothers devised the "Barber Hauler" as a way to haul out the jib clew to open up the slot but you could do the same thing and haul in if you like. If you were to put a block on the sheet between the genoa track car and the clew you could run a control line from that block to another block at the base of your mast and back to a spare sheave in your deck organizer. If you have and a halyard plate great, if not maybe to the boom vang bale. Or you can simply mount a standup block on the deck near the handrail to lead the control line through rather than going all the way over to the mast and back to the deck organizer. From there the line would come back to your cabin top winch and a cleat.
