Read a post quite some time ago about the plastic trim piece that covers this joint directly above the top rudder gudgeon.
My plasic piece had weathered beyond repair, so I built a teak one.
I used a 3/4" teak board, a router to trim out the excess and then cut the shape out using the old piece as a pattern.
I am quite pleased with the result.
The holes are for the missing boarding ladder, to be upgraded before launch this spring.

Hi Lloyd,

Welcome to the forum and thank you very much for your post. I've currently been contemplating the same solution, and now it's assured.

Nice work!

Lloyd,

Nice job! and welcome to the forum.

I, too, contemplated putting a piece of teak back there when my plastic trim piece disintegrated.

Keep them ideas coming.

Why didn't I think of that? I've replaced several of the plastic trim pieces over the years only to have them crumble away. Your teak trim looks great and I'll be "borrowing" your neat idea. Thanks for the picture.

The plastic trim piece I purchased doesn't even come close to fitting. Maybe it will fit someone else's boat. Assuming you don't want to make one out of teak.

The reason is doesn't come close to fitting is because it is also used on the C22, but needs to be trimmed for the C25.

Its not hard to trim one (a plastic one) to fit, but if I am going to invest the time and effort the next time I am going to follow Lloyd's lead and make a teak one.
