Gary B. O.K. two ideas. Is there going to be a "camera boat" out on the race course? Was just thinking that it would be great to have good pictures of all of our boats racing.
Also, is there any thought about notifying the Oregonian about the event? Maybe they'd do an article about it?

(As if you don't already have enough to do, Gary.) That has been done in past regattas. The camera should capture the start, mark roundings and the finish. Also, it's nice if video can be taken of each entrant while under way, such as beating to windward, flying a spinnaker, etc.
Already attended to, Gents. We have an "amateur" former racer (C22s) who is about to go pro. He works cheaper than the "pros" in the area. I have seen his portfolio, and it's GREAT! He will take requests from guys for specific shots of specific boats!
I am trying to set up a "photo op" some night as those of us with chutes (or not) sail (parade) up the river under one of the bridges with a walking type sidewalk. A shot down from there is like from a blinking helicopter. I cherish one shot I have of Encore! with the chute up. I was waiting for us to gather to assess interest before setting up the specifics....
BTW: He doesn't shoot digital, so we have to wait a day or so to see proofs, but the shots are really, really clear and suitable for blow ups.......He can scan them onto CDS, and some will be available for online ordering after the regatta.
Thanks for the idea, but we were WAY out ahead on this one!
As for the other idea....I doubt seriously that the Oregonian will come out....they don't do much for the sailing community, but perhaps because we have partnered with the Oregon Food Bank for the barbeque after the Friday night beer can, there may be a bigger chance for some pub.
We ARE supposed to be featured in Freshwater News here in Portland, coming out soon, and we have had announcements running in 48 North. I am certain they will do an article and publish our results........
Yea......!!!!!! Great news, Doug! I am so glad to have a FLEET of 250s.....now.....a couple or three more would be nice!
BTW: on the original thread.....we have set up a "spectator boat" as well for those of you with family a friends who would like to watch close up! Small donations accepted for fuel costs....
