Been some time since anyone spoke about a "scathingly brilliant idea/s" they came up with to add or modify inside their cabin for additional storage. Our tech tip section is a bit dated. Love to see what you clever folks have been up to! Inspire us!
we removed the cooler that came with the boat, and added shelves in that space. had a custom made curtain that is on pressure rods top and bottom. keeps the curtain tight and sway free, and holds lots of clothing. in the head locker, bought a vinyl sweater or shoe hanger that hangs on the closet pole. it has 4 compartments for storing towels etc. (i think it had six but it was too long so we just cut the bottom two off.) gets everything off the locker floor. under the head sink got "a little tiny shelve" to hold shampoo etc. in the aft berth, against the head wall, bought a wire 4 shelve rack with sides, holds several dvds & cds out of the way and in place. bought a pre finished shelve and cut it to fit the vberth under the hatch. holds the tv when we are spending weekends aboard. ...i hope to hear more ideas...
I got some white plastic coated aluminum closet shelving (the kind from Home Depot) and installed it in the settee lockers. I just epoxied some tabs on the inside locker walls to allow the shelving to set level. It provides a 16" wide level shelf. I can place the stuff that we never use underneath the shelving, and the stuff we use frequently on top. It has worked well for us.
I did the same thing in the head wet locker. Wet stuff underneath and dry stuff on top.
