Any suggestions out there on resolving or dealing with the problem of the aft port locker lid rubbing on the rear stay when you open the lid more than 1/2 way??
What year is your boat? My split backstay doesn't come anywhere near the hatch lid. Perhaps in compensation the hatch lid loves to trap the outboard fuel line... or the traveller line.
The interference of the gas locker lid with the backstay I think is only an issue on Mk. III and IV boats. My locker hits the backstay at about the half-raised point, and I don't have the split adjuster, just the single original backstay. But as others have said, it does help that the backstay will hold the lid open if you hook the lip on the bottom around the wire.
