Hi all,

I should have gotten a 135 roller furler jib three years ago when I got the 150, because on most days the sail had to be furled 10-25%. Discussing the solutions with Joe Rushka (good guy) at Halsey-Lingaard Sails resulted in installing a foam luff.

What a difference! Good shape furled to even 40%. Less heeling, better pointing. Never had the feeling that the boat was stalled. No effect when fully deployed.

It makes a slightly larger roll when fully furled, but the sunbrella still overlaps to cover the material.

It cost $90.

Jim,

Thanks for the posting. I've been wondering whether or not to have a foam luff installed on my genny, and your comments have been the convincer.
