Hi All,

On the Starboard track, I have a cleat car. I haven't seen one like it on any other boats. Does anyone out there have one? I like it because it provides a cleat amidships for tying off dock lines/spring lines. My question is, where do I get another one for the Port side? The cleat came with the boat, I don't believe it was a stock item, and I don't know where the previous owner purchased it. Any help in procuring another one would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Is it for a 1" track? That's a pretty good price. Do you have a link to the product?

West Marine carries a couple made by Schaefer. You'll want the one for 1" tracks. I have one of these and like it - the spring-loaded pin is easy to grab. I use mine for a spring line. I probably should get a second one too.

They're in the West catalog--indexed under "cleats - midship". I think mine are Ronstans--I think they were around $40 each.

I checked out West Marine and found the midship cleat for around $75.00. Didn't want to spend that much on something I'm not going to use frequently. I'm on a mooring and don't dock the boat very often. I did find a low-end version at the Power Sailing Center for $42.95. It's epoxy coated aluminum with a stainless steel trackslide. This is the same cleat that I already have, and it's at a better price. Now I'll have a matching pair. Thanks for the help.

i don't think the cleat is shown on the website- i called to order it. all their hardware is great, low priced and i think 10 year guarantee. some hardware is standard on new catalinas.

Steve,
Good post! I have been looking for these, too, but didn't want to spend so much for the Schaefer ones at West. I'll put in an order for the one at Power Sailing Center.
