I am having a topping lift installed on my 87 Cat and while they are up there I have asked them to put a new bulb in the anchor light (which has not worked at all this year. Took a look at the anchor light sold in Boater's world and it used a number 90 bulb. Bought a couple of them (bulbs) but not sure that this is the correct bulb. Does anyone know what's up there for a light and the correct bulb for it? Also bought 75 feet of 1/4" line for the topping lift. I'm going from the boom to masthead then down the mast to a block then thru the port side deck organizer to the top end of the cabin roof with a small cam cleat. Hope I purchased enough line. Thanks in advance, your all very helpful.
A squared plus B squared equals C squared. Roughly 25 squared by 10 squared equals about 27 to boom end from masthead plus 25 down mast to boom plus about 3 feet to deck and maybe 8 feet or so to cockpit comes out around 65 feet, for a standard rig, so I'd guess you got a little line to spare.
I have the owners manual to my 1984 Catalina 25 and it lists the bulbs as...12v/10w 904-00200. It also list a number to contact if you cannot locate a replacement(312)232-6425. This appears to be the same bulb in your stern light and combined sidelights on the bow. let me know if it works. My anchor light hasnt worked in 3 yrs because Im not going up there yet. good luck
I bought "festoon" bulbs for our 89 TR and tried to change the bulb while the mast was down for transport. Turns out we need the "dimple festoon" instead of the "pointy-end festoon". The old bulb looked OK so I left it there. Also the light housing looked like the plastic had turned very brittle, so if I go up I'm changing the whole thing instead of just the bulb (now I need to find a light that uses "pointy-end festoon since I have a bunch of them ). In any case the wiring is a bit messed up so I do not know if the light is OK yet.
