A Catalina 250, Sea Eagle inflatable with a sail rig, a Wind Glider to play with at the beach, and a '67 Venture 21 (hey, somebody had to invent the trailerable sailboat).
I would love to buy an old wood small sailboat and stick it in my garage and work on it all winter. Not much time for me to do anything else. I coach high school girls basketball and that takes a ton of time, but I think it would be a great way to just "get away" for a few hours each week.
Know where I could find something like that?
As for owning a sailboat, I have one. I think Meinert has 2 or 3 sailboats though.
Two, we just 'inherited' a Sunfish. We're still looking for a Catalina 32 or 36... preferably less than 5 years old. At least we've narrowed it down to two choices! My Dad would like me to buy his Cape Dory 28; although it's a nice boat, it simply won't do.
Coach, WoodenBoat magazine has a very interesting classified section. They even have boats for free. However, I cannot be held responsible if this information should turn you into a project junkie. Rehab and return to normalcy is a tough road my friend. Todd Frye
