Jim and Andrew Scott, of Scott Sails in Annapolis and Urbanna. Andrew sails for Dennis Conner; they make excellent and reasonably priced sails; they repair and clean sails as well. Tell Jim Brooke sent you. www.scottsails.com

Check out this website. http://www.sailcare.com/ It's not near DC, but the process they use is supposed to be better than cleaning. I haven't used them, but a friend recommended them.

I've used Sailcare, and they do good work. They'll repair small places on your sails, and their cleaning process makes the sails temporarily stiff again. I was assuming maybe catbird needed more extensive work.

Thanks for your responses. The sails, in fact, do need minor repairs. I found a listing for Potomac Sailmakers in Alexandria, VA just a few miles from where the boat is berthed. Have you heard anything about them? Many thanks.

Potomac Sailmakers are great. I have had work done there and could not be more pleased. They are just off of 495.

I appreciate all the responses. Brooke - next season I'd like to sail down the Potomac and up the bay to Annapolis if I can get enough time. Thanks again everybody!
