Now that the boat is out of the water, I’ve had some time to collect and scan some photos that have been taken over the past five years. I contacted many of the guests that have sailed with us since before I was an owner to the present. Most sent me what they had. I want to put together a leather bound photo album at Shutterfly. and there were a ton to go through, but here are a few…both digital and scanned,

Not sure what gave you that idea.

I may have Archie Bunkers attitudes and opinions at times, but I'm just 34.... A younger woman (22) at work called me "real old" today when she found out i've been out of college for the better part of 13 years.

I thought your daughter was the one holding the baby.
By the way how old is she now?
My son started going to Tenkiller when he was one and sailing with me at three so I guess you can't start them out too young.
Thats where we'll be this weekend with the temps in the upper 40's to low 50's at night and the 60's during the day and wind 10-15.

Hey Duane

Is that an asymetrical spinnaker? I didn't see a pole. Are you wing on wing? Also, do you need to use a whisker pole with an asymetrical? (if in fact that is one)

Hi Duane,

Nice Pictures! Our kids are 2 and 6, it seems the older they get the fast time goes by, so savor every moment!

I've been thinking about getting a spinnaker and was admiring your's. I like that it's mostly white with a little blue and red, very sharp. Catalina Yachts emblem comes to mine. Anyway, I noticed you also have a standard rig, and was wondering what are the dimentions of your spinnaker?

Frank,

That's a tri-Radial spinaker. In that particular picture there isn't a pole. We flew it similar to an asym for the purposes of the photo only. I don’t recall the exact details of that photo, but I think the pole was still unpurchased at the time.

I highly highly recommend using a spinnaker pole with a spinnaker (of any variety). If the wind picks up even moderately, you will putting a considerable amount of load on the pole, a load I wouldn’t trust with a whisker pole.

No we aren't wing on Wing - again, it was posed. The photographer (my father) took the picture and then went out to the farthest dock while we doused the spin. we headed right in, picked him up and then went out for a sail.

Kip - All three of my spinakers are Tri-Radial J-24 kites. They are a bit small for the boat, but made a great training spinakers. The price was right though, We picked up the first one as part of a combo package. (J24 jib, spinaker and a torn spin for $100) and the other two were donations, the torn one wasn't repairable. I think the total cost for 3 spinakers and a jib came to 140 after new sail numbers.

We aren't sure how long we are going to remain in the 25, so we probably won't make an investment into a kite that actually fits.

For more info on rigging for a spin, (tri-radial with pole) please take a look at my article in the tech tips section. It is tucked in with the C25 stuff, probably shouldve put it out with the general articles, since it can go for both the 25 and 250. The link is below.
