If this boat was on Lake lanier, I would buy it.

Check out the specs. She's short on the waterline with very narrow beam. Not very roomy but a good looking older boat.

If my eyes are not fooling me, she looks to be in darn good condition as well.

I like the lines of the Columbia 29, but it's not very roomy for a 29 footer. She looks pretty good for an old gal.

I.M.H.O. she is indeed a fine looking boat!

I read a good article about the Columbia 29 in Good Old Boat magazine,
from what I understand any Sparksman & Stevens design has some merit.

She may have a few shortcomings compaired with today's conveniences, but my goodness look at the price. I like it.

There is a Columbia 29 on Lake Lanier. It is a 1963 Defender, at Aqualand, being sold by Weathermark Sailing. I know; it was my old boat that I traded for a new Catalina 250 six months ago. It has been sitting unattended all this time, needs a new motor, but is super cheap at around $3 grand. A little rough but a good sailing boat. I would have kept her and fixed her up, but I wanted a boat that I could tow to various coastal locations. Worth a look.

I've seen a couple of the Nor'Sea 27s up close and they are very nice boats. They really have that "classic yacht" look with the faux lapstrake hull and brass ports. However, they are way overpriced for a boat that size and the manufacturer has a spotted history of customer satisfaction. While it's nice to look at the other boats, there's something very satisfying about my C25 with no boat payments since 1987.

Here's another potential bargain. Not a lot of info in the ad; boat probably needs work. A little large for where we sail. 'think it's a sloop rig? ;~)
