Put the new used boat out for 1st sail while putting 1st mate through beginner training. Winds were light starting out and freshened to just a few whitecaps. Only a couple of semi noggin hits with boom (one reason I don't like winches on cabin), a few freakouts from new crew as we healed, she finally trusted me and the boat. Got her up to 6.5 knots until I noticed leach seam came unraveled on jib. Besides jib damage all went well. I guess that was my welcome to boat ownership, one day sailing now 2 days repairing. Also noticed the fairleads for furler had grooves cut thru the plastic inside diameters which causes too much friction while furling and unfurling. Will replace w/ chrome fairleads. You might check yours also. Sailing on Eagle Mountain, Forth Worth.
Yep! had to replace my jib fairleads with metal insert ones too. It's a common problem, since I've seen a few other C250s here with gouged out fairleads.
