Moses Lake got a light dusting of volcanic ash from Mt. St. Helens tonight. Tomorrow's activities now will include hosing off the boat.

I witnessed the eruption from the outdoor deck at Tomahawk Marina in Portland tonight. Killing time before a racing seminar, having a cool one while watching the whole thing go up. I don't remember a bigger plume since 1980. T'was blue sky, 70+ degrees.....pretty cool!

Don't breathe too much of that stuff, Tony.

Yes, we were in Olympia in 1980 and it was a sight. Coming up again in July for a month out of Anacortes so maybe more ash. Had to wash off the deck each morning while in South Sound. Can't wait to see the place again.

Update, we only received a very tiny dusting so were lucky.

In 1980 we had 4 inches of gray "snow". I really don't want to go through that again!

I was fortunate enough to be flying south of St. Helens several years back and got to see a large steam cloud come up. Quite a sight!
