Rained out of work today...so started a new boat project (one that was on the list)... a forward hatch screen.
Design chosen is a frame which will screw to the liner and provide a groove for a sliding screen. The screen will sit just low enough to clear the hatch dogs.
Tom, keep in mind that I've had my boat for nine years and collected a number of desirable projects and just recently discovered the wood to build them. Actually, it reveals a procrastinator.
The forward hatch screen was finished last night but an installed picture will be a while coming as it will get several coats of oil before screwing in place.
The wood is running low, a few longer pieces might make a main hatch screen if the storage chocks for the hatch can be expanded to hold both it and the screen.
Gee, I just opted for the easy way out and bought a hatch screen 2 days ago. Yours looks great, and you get something by building one that you can't get by buying one "Pride". Can't wait to see yours installed.
Tom... your unit has advantage of not needing the screen opened to adjust the hatch and if the buggers are brazen or I'm not fast... they will swarm .
But... I've got the answer for that... the ventilation fan is a truckers type... and it eats skeeters ... but unfortunately leaves a greasy swath on the hull liner
