I took Phredde in for her first bottom job in seven years last Friday. I caught the very best day of the year so far on SF bay . 85 degrees and beautiful. But the winds were pretty light. For SF bay that means 1 hour of motoring on each end, 3 hours of 10-15 knots.
Original quote was $1,080 for the haulout, pressure wash, 2 coats of paint and relaunch. But after 7 years they found lots of barnacles and mussels. Looking at $1,600 now. Part of me wishes to have done it myself, but the boat yards want almost $1,000 for their part anyway. I can't wait to see the improvement in sailing.
Nope! No blisters...amazing!!! I went by the yard last night and saw the finished product before splash today and return trip to SF on Saturday. Looked good! Sorry no pictures. Too bad nobody will really see the work. Except for the dock walkers who might miss the beard of sea weed. Or even better yet, the other boats as we go heeling by them
