I just felt a need to post something with my friends here about events this past week. My brother Brandon who loved to sail with me was shot and killed during a robbery attempt at his part time job where he was a clerk for a gas station in the evenings just down the street from his house.
He liked to take Chick-a-pea with his wife Sheila and stay over night. He also went with me and my twin to the Bimini Islands on the boat. He could sail her almost as well as myself. So I am posting a few photos here of him on Chick-a-pea in his rememberance.
Ben, thanks for sharing about Brandon... those of us who hear the story cannot escape sharing the tragedy with you in some measure. I recall your posting about saiing to Bimini with your two brothers and the great time y'all had...
I'm glad that you have that and many more great memories so that his spirit will remain a long time.
The pictures show him to be my kind'a guy. Words cannot express the spectrum of emotions an event like this generates. Find strength Ben, I hope we all help you in some way. You have our prayers and best wishes.
Ben, I'm so sorry for the loss of Brandon. I remember him as very full of life and good humor on our Bahamas trip. I hope you and your family find some comfort in your time of grief.
Ben... I'm sure everyone here shares my desire to send our sincerest condolences and best wishes to Brandon's wife, too. You and she have some tough times immediately ahead, but I can attest, from the loss of my sailing (and everything else) partner of 35 years, that you'll both get through it. It will take some time. Stay active here--it helps.
Ben, As was said earlier no one can express enough grief for you. We can only pray and give hope for you and the rest of your family. Your post is a great step on the way to saving and savoring all of the positive memories you have of your brother. I know I had great relations wiht my Dad and brother before they passed away, this has just lead to having many happy memories. I can see that it will be the same with you. Again, you have our fondest hopes of life to come.
Ben, I'm very sorry to learn of the sudden loss of your brother and friend. Thank you for sharing your great memories with us. I know you have all of our support.
Ben, I am very sad for you and your family. Just remember the all the great times spent enjoying life for what it is worth. None of us know when that TIME will come. You two obviously have spent the kind of time together that most only dream of. When you pick up the pieces and find a place for all the emotions, you will think to yourself...remember when.....with a smile on your face. If you need anything at all, remember, I am a stones throw away.
What a horrible and tragic loss, Ben. Words fail me. Replay the good times in your head. Hold on to them and share them with your family now and in the future.
