This sounds pretty scary! My dad used to tell me about flywheels coming up through the floor of cars.

Thanks JM for passing on this information...I know if I had one of these outboards, I'd be checking serial numbers, pronto!

Honda sent me a notice of this problem last year 2004.
I took it into the dealer in the morning and picked it up the next day.
The BF8 I have has a square looking housing and not the rounded looking housing you see today.

Thanks, JM. Just checked my serial number for my motor. Had it in the filing cabinet. Mine was not on the list, fortunately.
