It took a herculean effort in twisting to break mine loose to expand/contract. There is a bit of white residue or some form exfoliated corrosion type powder once I was able to break it free and expand it. The pole is made by Forespar and Im not sure that spraying WD40 is a good idea. Would this cause the pole to slip and no longer grip when twisting? Any thoughts or previous experience on this?
I also have a Forspar whisker pole. I don't think they recommend putting any kind of lubricant on the pole. Just wash with clear water, wipe it down real good, and occasionally extend and retract it.
