None of the instruments on Swimmer except the compass worked when I got her. I've removed all the circa 1982 Standard Horizon and am looking to install a Raymarine Bidata system. I will not have any wind speed, just boat speed and depth. I passed on the wind instrument due to locals telling me winds are so variable, it's a complete waste of money on the lake.

Any comments good or bad on this brand ?

Thanks,

Rick

Yeh, Standard Horizon. A good company that stands behind their product. Reliable but relatively inexpensive intruments. Insightfull inventors - they invented the RAM Mike. If I'm ever struct by lightning again I'll stay with them. All of my electronics including radio, depth, speed, and RAM mike are all SH.

I have the Raymarine depth and really like it. very nice and I got it for a good price. I googled it and found a place in New Jersey that shipped it to me for 60 dollars less than West Marine. ( that was a happy day)

I have used the Raymarine Bi-Data for 2 years now and am quite pleased with it. One of the reasons I chose it was that it has the biggest, most readable display in it's price class. Works as advertised.

I have Raymarine ST40 depth and speed. Speed never worked. I didn't get around to shipping it back to the factory until two years after purchase. They sent me a new one no questions asked.

I can't argue with the customer service.

Thanks, Bill
