Someone stole my mast support post (the one that mounts to the rudder and holds the mast during transport.)

Anyone know what this costs to replace? Does Catalina make this or trail-rite?

Thanks,
Kurt

That is terrible, what a bummer. How much use could it be to someone other than another 250 owner? I can't find any label or marking on mine to suggest a manufacturer but I would be willing to bet it's made by Catalina. You might contact your dealer and enlist his help in contacting them also.

Kurt, Here's what I got from Robert Butler at Catalina a year ago when I inquired about a mast crutch:

<i>"The pole is #16128 @136.40 you can order by e-mail just give us a visa or master card with the exp date. All orders need to be in writing, or you can fax it to 818-704-6612."</i>

The price may have gone up a bit since then. Being the cheap person I am, I made my own out of PVC pipe and a pair of oar locks. The locks clamped around the pipe and the 1/2" pins fit neatly into the rudder gudgeons. Total cost was about $20. I don't trailer - I use the mast crutch for winter storage with the mast down. The PVC might be a little too flexible for rocking down the road. Aluminum conduit might do the trick for about the same cost. Stick a trailer bow roller on the end to hold the mast.
